For home food sellers

Getting your FSSAI licence

Selling food in India — even from a home kitchen — needs a basic FSSAI registration. It's cheaper and quicker than most people expect. Here's exactly how to do it.

Step-by-step video coming soon
  1. Go to the FoSCoS portal

Visit foscos.fssai.gov.in — this is the official government registration site. Avoid third-party sites that charge extra fees.

  2. Choose "Basic Registration"

Home kitchens and small sellers (turnover under ₹12 lakh/year) only need Basic Registration — not a full licence. It's the cheapest, simplest option.

  3. Fill your business details

Your name, address, the kind of food you make, and a passport photo. Keep it simple and accurate.

  4. Pay the fee

Basic Registration costs ₹100 per year. Payment is done directly on the government portal.

  5. Get your certificate

Approval usually takes 7–10 working days. You'll get a 14-digit FSSAI number and a certificate — add both to your MadeByHer seller profile.

Stuck, or applied already?

You can still submit your MadeByHer seller application without a licence number — just add it to your profile once it arrives.
